A Canadian biodiesel company that will establish 100 village level biodiesel facilities in Southern Luzon is also keen on forming a scholarship foundation for children of Filipino farmers.
Green Corp., which has three Filipinos in its board of directors, recently signed a $25-million project with the Philippine government for the deployment of 100 village-level biodiesel processing facilities known as Greenstar 100 (GS100) in Quezon, Laguna, Batangas and areas in the Bicol region.
The firm plans to produce 1,000 liters per day of coconut methyl ester, or CME, per facility in just 10 hours, which will benefit 5,000 families and 100 farmers’ organizations and cooperatives for the project’s 2-year duration. Green Corp. says the farmers will have a guaranteed market for their products.
Greenstar 1000 (GS1000), a biodiesel batch processing equipment, has strategically positioned itself in Vietnam and in other countries in Southeast Asia as a major player in biofuel production.
It is Green Corp.’s state-of-the-art biodiesel processor that has several features for ease in operation. It can also use various feedstock that contain up to 5 percent FFA (free-fatty acid). It conforms to ASTM D6751 and EN14214 standards and can easily be set up and commissioned in days.
The equipment also features adaptive programming modules, making it perfect for community-level biodiesel production.
Green Corp. has joined the Autopetro Exhibition in Vietnam during May 21 to May 25 at the Ho Chi Minh International Exhibition and Convention Center (HIECC) in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Green Corp. team will be headed by Rely Diego, president and chief executive officer, Mohinder Paul Singh Saini, senior vice president and chief operating officer, and Ernie Calica, vice president for business development and marketing.
Vietnam is very active in the production of biodiesel feedstock, Diego said.
Autopetro is described as the event for the rapidly growing automotive market in Vietnam, with many foreign enterprises joining to assess market needs, look at investment opportunities and plan for future business projects.
The event organizers said that the show will feature a full range of motor vehicle-related products and services including spare parts, accessories and petroleum products.
Autopetro event organizers said they were attracted to Vietnam owing to its strong economic growth, with the increase in the number of motor vehicles estimated at 16 percent annually for the 2005-2010 period.
Industrial growth in Ho Chi Minh City alone is placed at 12.7 percent for the 2006-2010 period.
